Iona ( see picture ) welcomed Greg to the Centre and was interviewed live on the Jo Wylie Show . During the broadcast to over 8 million listeners, Iona was asked all about Loch Ness and the Centre and Greg himself said how much he had enjoyed his visit through the Exhibition and that he would definitely be visiting again ! As part of the show, Greg was asked live by Jo to put on our Nessie suit and interview some customers at the Centre ( see picture ) which he did happily. This visit was the final visit of Greg's 2 week tour and he now heads back to London to continue his radio show.

The moment Greg finds out 'live on air ' that he will be wearing the Nessie Suit

Greg gets in the spirit of the costume

Iona answers questions live on the Jo Wylie Show

The HOFF comes to visit

At the end of June the one and only David Hasslehoff came to our Centre. He was filming a new documentary with his daughters who accompanied him on his visit. They saw the exhibition and then went on our famous Deepscan Cruise filming all the way.

The Hoff took time to speak with visitors and staff alike and some were lucky enough to get their photos with the Baywatch legend. Robbie Bremner, MD of the Centre, managed 20mins with the Hoff for coffee and home baking; he said, ' David was a very nice guy and had plenty to say about Scotland and the fantastic welcome he had received both at the Centre and Scotland as a whole.'

The Hoff said he thoroughly enjoyed his visit to the Centre and the Cruise on Loch Ness and signed a photo for all the staff at the Centre. We're looking forward to seeing the documentary when it's released.

Lounge Bar being built ready for April 2009!!

Well I'm thinking we need a serious update on whats been happening in The Drumnadrochit Hotel. . . . First things first, we have closed for the quiet season, mainly because its really quiet here but also to make some radical changes to our meeting/conference room. Mr. Robert Bremner hs decided to make a public lounge bar on our top floor (which has the most fantastic views over some gorgeous scenery) fit with sofa's and tables for quiet drinking, reading or even painting. Our restaurant will now have more tables so we can accomodate for larger parties and bands. This year will bring a lot more entertainment into the "Drum" Hotel- as we are locally known- including ceilidh bands, folk music, highland dancers and much more (look out for our "Local Events" link).
Also this year we have reduced our rates as we all know this credit crunch is hitting us hard so were looking to make your holiday pennies stretch with our new prices especially for summer (July/August & September), with our double room costing £70 including breakfast and a family room only £110 for a family of 4 including breakfast . . .
So after all that this year is looking to be a promising one for staff and guests alike. Who knows during a cruise on our local boat with skipper John Minshull you might even spot Nessie, or even catch a "Haggis" in the Highland Mountains on the Great Glen Way walk. Whatever you decide to do, You will recieve a very warm welcome from the staff at The Drumnadrochit Hotel

Recent Famous Visitors ...

Phillipe Custeau, grandson of the world famous Captain Jacques - Yves Custeau was filming at the Loch Ness Centre in July 2008 with a team of 6 for the Discovery Channel.
