The Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition were winners of the very prestigious ‘Best Large Visitor Experience in the Highlands and Islands’ at the Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards, held at the Drumossie Hotel. David Bremner, Director, said ‘We were very pleased to be short-listed initially and absolutely delighted to win this award. All the hard work and determination of our staff led us to the award and they are all to be highly commended. We are making some interesting changes to the Exhibition this year and hopefully our product will continue to attract visitors and locals alike’

July 2007: Ness Soaps Volunteers Visit The Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition.

At the end of June the staff and volunteers from Ness Soaps took a trip out to visit the Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition at Drumnadrochit. Ness Soaps supplied the Centre with 2 stands of Nessie soaps and different shaped bars in May this year. The staff at the Centre had kindly invited the team out to have a look at where the soaps are displayed for sale.

After a picnic lunch the team learned about the mysteries of Loch Ness during a visit to the very interesting Loch Ness Centre Exhibition. They were then treated to refreshments, courtesy of the Centre.

The team had a fantastic time at the Centre and special thanks must be made to the shop manager, Linda, and the rest of the team for making us all feel so welcome.

June 2007: We are delighted to announce that ...

5 star attraction The Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition has been awarded 5 Star Visitor Attraction status by the National VisitScotland Tourism Board, the highest possible grade available.

Robbie Bremner, owner of the Centre, said: "We are absolutely delighted with our new 5 Star grading from Visitscotland. It is a testament to all the hard work and effort all the Staff at the Centre have put in over the last year. Now our customers can be assured of a first class experience when they visit the Loch Ness Centre and we are looking forward to a busy season ahead"

Look what Nessie was up to at Tartan Week in New York recently ...

We are delighted to announce that ... Nessie has just been named as the All Time Icon of the Highlands of Scotland!!

Nominations flooded in from across the globe after an initial competition in Scottish Provincial Press titles across the Highlands. The top six most popular icons chosen by the public were put forward to an online poll on the Highland 2007 website.

Always the odds on favourite to win, Nessie beat off competition from Flora Macdonald, Rob Roy Macgregor, Hugh Miller, Simon Fraser of Lovat and Bonnie Prince Charlie to win the coveted title of Highlands and Islands Icon.

Votes came from the USA, Ghana, the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Luxembourg, Greece and Finland – and throughout the whole of the UK.

Alison Magee, chair of Highland 2007, said: "We are delighted by the response we received for the online vote. It's great to see so many people from all over the world visiting the Highland 2007 website and finding out more about what is happening as part of the year Scotland celebrates Highland culture.

"Nessie is a deserved winner of the title as she is a recognised icon throughout the world and always draws visitors to the Highlands in their hunt for the elusive creature. It is very apt she has been named winner at this time as Nessie and the new film 'Water Horse', which will be released in the USA later this year, attracted lots of attention from the crowds who visited the Scottish Village as part of Tartan Week in New York earlier this month."
